Back Owner’s Manual

My wife has been going to a doctor for some back pain treatment. After her first visit, she came home with a little booklet called “Back Owner’s Manual”. I thought that was just the most clever thing. And it is exactly what it sounds like, a manual showing the components of the back, how they are injured, what to do to prevent the injuries, what to do if you get injured, etc. Unfortunately, it didn’t come with a warranty but maybe that follows.
Anyway, it got me thinking, what if every important component of our life came with a manual? Here is your marriage manual. Here is your baby raising manual, toddler raising manual, preteen, teen, young adult and adult children raising manual. Here is your manual for grandchildren. Here is your manual for your career, for changing careers, for friend relationships, etc, etc. How many of us would even follow it? I know I don’t read the Ikea furniture guides so why would I read the others? How many of us would at least refer to them?
It would be interesting if there was a whole series on life manuals. And I know, many religious people will point to their religious texts and life manuals and I get it. I see value in that. That’s not what I mean. I mean a step by step, say this, then do this then say this and send this text type manual.
What would you put in your life manuals? Impart your wisdom!
