Full Tank

Ok, so it isn’t Monday. I’m a day late. My beautiful wife and I got in around 2AM Sunday/Monday from an awesome trip to Sacramento area. We went out for a friend’s wedding and made a little adventure out of it. Stayed in San Francisco one night, Sonoma another and Napa another. I have never been to that part of the country and I love to explore. I really love to explore with my favorite co-explorer. She truly is the best part of me and balances me out perfectly. We are both much better with each other than we are without. Anyway, she let me sleep in on Monday and then i jumped up to get ready for the St. Patrick’s Day party at CGB. It was a whirlwind. But man what a party!! A few hundred of our closest friends–and new friends–just laughing and smiling and having a great time. Our buddies, The Secret Commonwealth, played all night and had almost as much fun as the party-goers did! It was a beautiful time in a great place with a great community.

I guess what I am saying is that my tank is full right now. I am positive and upbeat and fulfilled. I have anxiety about some things–the economy, the housing market, our house renovation–but emotionally and mentally, I am fulfilled. It feels good to have someone by your side that gets you. That loves you and balances you. It also feels good to be part of a community. Not just where you live but how you live and with whom you live. If you don’t have that, I hope you can find it. Maybe it is with a church, maybe with a social organization or group. Maybe it is at Cedar Glade.

On a completely different note (queue anxious background music), I read an alarming stat yesterday. In Rutherford County, houses under $300k (there aren’t many and usually they get snapped right up), only 26% of the ones available went under contract in February. That is super telling of the market activity right now. Normally, that number would be well into the 80% range or higher. Let that be a barometer for how slow the market is. Stuff is moving, just slowly.

Anywho, I hope you had a great weekend. If you have any real estate questions–rentals, airbnb, selling, buying, refinancing, divorces, marriages, deaths, births, etc., give me a shout!
