J. Harmon Home Team would like to congratulate Alanah Burkhardt on being awarded our February 2023 Hero of the Month award.
Her nomination reads: My grandson is Autistic, and he was in need of behavior therapy, so the place called Special Kids gave me a list of referrals. I needed someone that could fit into my schedule on the count of all the other people I take care of and she fit the bill. So upon our 1st meeting and her evaluation on Nehemiah she decided he need therapy and she would accept his case. After her evaluation we found out his insurance would not pay her, so I was at a loss on what to do. She saw my frustration, and loss for hope, and she decided to take his case for free. She comes to see him weekly, do you know how much money she is giving up? I am just so full and happy. Well she doesn’t stop there , when I was sick with COVID, she brought us food and meds to the porch. Again it doesn’t stop there , she ALSO went and picked up the boys from school for me when I was in the hospital. She never hesitates about ANYTHING I ask for help in. She is not just a regular behavior therapist. She even takes the time to talk to him on video AFTER HOURS, just incredible. We love her so much. She is an AWESOME additive to our village.
