| Good Morning! Today I am writing to ask for your help and your eyes in the community. As you may know (or may not!) my team honors two individuals each month. One outstanding teacher and one hero. I want to give you a little more insight into what those awards are, what we are looking for and then humbly ask for your nominations. We are very low on noms right now and need to know who is doing the work!! Teacher–we are looking for outstanding teachers in Rutherford County–public school, private school, MTSU, Motlow, wherever. Someone who pours into students and is making the world better by making students better–better prepared, better educated, better experienced. Such an important role. Hero–This is such a big word. For this award, we are looking for someone that goes above and beyond ALL THE TIME. maybe they do “traditional” hero work. Maybe not. But they always put others ahead of themselves and are beacons we can point to and say “that is a good person to emulate”. That is someone I can count on, someone others depend on, someone I want my kids to be more like. The “hero” part of it can be big or small. But it is consistent and selfless. We have honored public servants, incredible caregivers, community organizers, non-profits, one time, extraordinary actors, etc. We especially need nominations for this award. It is hard to do, I get that. But people need these stories–especially now. These stories give hope and inspiration. And give folks a sense of community knowing there are people right here doing incredible things for others. Submit some nominations. If you have in the past and your nom didn’t win, submit it again. The stream of nominations is not steady. Sometimes we get a whole bunch and other times the nomination flow is a little lean. We can’t know or tell the stories if you don’t share them.
