J. Harmon Home Team would like to congratulate Mrs. Andrea Coulter, of Rutherford Academy, on being awarded our March 2024 Teacher of the Month award.

Her nomination reads: Andrea works with special needs children trying to give them an education, working with them when it is difficult for the majority of teachers to be able to work with some of these children. She puts in hard work and dedication to these children. She has been abused while on the job from students. Some of these children are really difficult to teach and work with but she gets up everyday and goes in and puts in the effort. She is truly a good person and wants to help anyone that she can. This translates outside of school too into home life. I will add a description below on what the website shows about the school she works in. Rutherford Academy is a private non-profit school for special needs children and youth. We have been part of the Murfreesboro and Middle Tennessee education community for over 17 years. Rutherford Academy offers therapeutic special education day school for 1st through 12th grade students. Typically, our unique students have been identified with emotional and psychiatric disorders, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dual-diagnosis, and/or developmental delays.
