J. Harmon Home Team would like to congratulate Kathy Fix on being awarded our March 2024 Hero of the Month award.

Her nomination reads: After having a double mastectomy herself, she realized there were no good pillows and other comfort products that had what a woman would need after surgery. She started her gift in love for women after a mastectomy to have a care package with the necessities she found she needed after her surgery. Kathy makes “Pretty Pillows” as she called them. These pillows have pockets to hold the drain tubes and add comfort during recovery. Kathy keeps Saint Thomas Rutherford stocked with these mastectomy bags. She funds these bags 100% on her own. In addition to the pillows, she adds hand sanitizer, thank you note cards, a reusable water tumbler and other items to make their recovery more comfortable. She puts no advertising or solicitations in or on the bag. This is purely a gift of love from her as gratitude for a lifesaving surgery she received, and realization that other women could benefit from the items she made. From that her ministry of Pretty Pillows was born.
