In this email, I am often times pretty transparent about myself and sometimes, by extension, my family. Every now and then, I get asked why I open up so much. Why I make myself vulnerable and tell you all about my struggles. Some think it is a pity party. Some think it is an ask for help. I will tell you, it is not either of those. I do not ever expect or crave feedback on this email. I do enjoy it, but that’s not the why. I write emails like this to share with you real life, real stories, real struggles of someone that many think has it all together. I sell a lot of houses (not as many as I used to!!), have awesome kids, have a smoking hot awesome wife, my parents are still married after 47 years, my grandmother is still alive, I have a cool house on East Main, etc. so it looks like I have this charmed life. And in many ways I do. But in many ways, I have small disasters underneath. I constantly juggle issues and challenges. Just like everyone else. And that is why I write these. I want you to know that no matter how lovely it looks on the outside, how perfect the social media portrays, there are issues–some of them BIG issues. If I can connect my story with someone else’s, even one, then the vulnerability is worth it. If one of you reads my stories and says, “wow, I feel that.” or “man, I am glad I am not alone” then I have achieved my goal. If you happen to reach out and tell me your story too, then I have far exceeded my goal. And why me? What gives ME the right, motivation, position to do this? Nothing. I just happen to be the one that does it. I am not special, just willing. So read the stories. Enjoy them. Or don’t enjoy them. Whatever. But read them and know you are not alone. You are never alone. Whatever you are dealing with, someone else is too. All you gotta do is find them. Or let them find you. If you are struggling to find someone to relate to, let me know. I bet I can help you find someone. I do have one ask this week. I need to sell some houses. I need to help some more families. I humbly ask for your referrals and connections. It is really important to me to close 15 more transactions this year. It is a lofty goal. But it is possible. Here’s what I know, I am hyper plugged in to our local market right now. I am watching and absorbing. It is a GREAT time to negotiate and buy. Buyers are in the drivers seat and can get a lot of value. They just can’t be scared. So send me your friends, family, yourselves. Let’s sit down and talk and figure out if this is the right time for YOU. If a one on one is not appropriate for someone’s situation, I will be hosting a round table/open invite buyer conversation on Wednesday, October 1 at 6pm at Cedar Glade Brews. Come in, I will buy you a beer or soda or whatever. We will sit and discuss as a group the market, the opportunities and your situation if you want. It is NOT a lecture or presentation of sorts. Just a conversation. Low key, no pressure. Feel free to bring in more people, record it, whatever. Please help me achieve my goal. You know your referrals will be in great hands, mine. |
