Teacher of the Month, January, 2021

January, 2021 Teacher of the Month Tyler McCoy of Rockvale Elementary, flanked by Mary Fugitt of Gateway Title Services and Jonathan Harmon

January’s Outstanding Teacher of the Month is Tyler McCoy!

Tyler was nominated for her incredible dedication to her Rockvale Elementary School CDC students.

“Ask anyone and they’ll tell you. Tyler has such a heart and passion for special needs that you can immediately sense it, and the children become so comfortable with her as soon as she’s around them. She calms them down and let’s them know it’s ok to be different, all while pushing her children to learn and be better students. I’ve been with her while she’s out in public shopping (before COVID) and her children LIGHT UP whenever they see her. They smile from ear to ear and they run to hug her. It doesn’t matter what Tyler is doing, how busy she is, or even how many things she’s trying to juggle; she stops and hugs them and loves on them like they are her own children.”

Tyler, we are thankful for the privilege to get to honor you and your service to the children of Rutherford County. Thank you!

Big thanks to our partners for helping continue to make this award possible each month!
