Missy Lay is a lifelong resident of Rutherford County, She was raised between Murfreesboro and Smyrna, attended all Rutherford County Schools and attended Belmont University to study Business Management, emphasis in Marketing/Public Relations. She has worked in several industries but excels when she is helping. Her job as Operations Manager for J Harmon Home Team fits right into her wheelhouse of logistics and team building.

Missy is also the owner of Wild Goose Chase Events, a local event company that specializes in one-of-a-kind events around Rutherford County. Celebrating her 8th year in business, Lay enjoys creating scavenger hunts that drive people into small businesses, murder mystery events and also creative fundraisers to help local nonprofits raise money. 

Missy is passionate about making Rutherford County the greatest place to live, work and raise a family for ALL. She served as President of Locally Owned Murfreesboro for four years, has helped nearly 20 nonprofits host events and raise money, and is a co-founder of the Rutherford County Pride group that exists to build safe spaces for everyone in our community. She is currently a member of Murfreesboro Kiwanis and won the Kiwanian of the Year award in 2024 for her work with the community.
