Free Day in May – Oaklands Mansion

It doesn’t matter if you are new to Murfreesboro, a long-time resident, or just passing through; you are invited to visit Oaklands Mansion and grounds for FREE.  There will be self-guided tours with signage inside the house explains the evolution of the historic site. Originally constructed as a frontier homestead, the structure evolved into a plantation house that was ultimately adapted to serve as a house museum. Staff and volunteers will be there to meet you and answer questions

Memorial Day Ceremony – Kuss Memorial, Smyrna

Please join us as we remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. The Town of Smyrna invites the community to gather at the Captain Jeff Kuss USMC Memorial for this solemn event. The commemorative event honors fallen service members and their sacrifice for the nation, featuring guest speakers, patriotic music, and a wreath-laying ceremony.

Friday Night Live Featuring the “Piano Men” – Downtown Murfreesboro

Come here the music of Billy Joel and Elton John on the courthouse square. And it’s all free! There’s always room in front of the stage to cut a rug or bring a chair and enjoy the music sitting down. Come early to have dinner at one of the locally owned downtown restaurants and do a little shopping around the square before the music begins.
