This annual event, hosted by members and partners of the Rutherford County Agriculture Community, features many hands-on activities to teach families about agriculture’s impact on our everyday lives. Come learn about where your food comes from, what farmers do and how even families that don’t live on a farm can have agricultural adventures at home!

Rutherford Heart Walk – Murfreesboro Medical Clinic
The Heart Walk brings neighbors, families, schools and workplaces together to build a community that’s ready to act in an emergency. Every walker who joins and every dollar donated helps fund CPR training, heart‑health education and research that leads to more lifesaving moments. Organizers say even small steps — learning hands‑only CPR, supporting a team, or simply showing up — can create a ripple effect of hope.

Hometown Heroes Walk for children – Civic Plaza Murfreesboro
Child Advocacy Center celebrates Child Abuse Prevention Month with the Hometown Heroes Walk for Children. The free event will be on April 25th, 2025. It begins at the Murfreesboro Civic Plaza. Awards are presented to local hometown heroes. The event concludes at the Child Advocacy Center. 2025 is the 9th year for the Hometown Heroes Walk. Former First Lady Andrea Conte was the founder of the event.

Rutherford Races to Read Boro Derby – Oaklands mansion
Get ready for Rutherford Races to Read, a family-friendly derby-style event full of fun and excitement! Join us as jockeys race inflatable horses with literary-inspired names. This board game style race will have 2 quaifying races and winners advance to the FINAL race for ALL THE ROSES! You can cheer on your favorite horse, “pick your pony” for prizes, show off your best derby hats, and enjoy a day of community fun—all while supporting literacy and our local libraries.
Proceeds benefit the Rutherford County Library Foundation, helping provide grants to enhance services at six library branches and a bookmobile.

Show Your Till Fundraiser – The View at the Fountains
A charity luncheon raising vital funds to ensure survivors of sexual violence receive the healing, safety, and support they deserve. Show Your Till is the Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Center’s newest fundraising experience, stepping in to carry forward the legacy of our retired Tip Your Waiter event. While guests will recognize the warm spirit of our past gatherings, this debut luncheon brings a fresh, modern flair.

See Spot Run 5k – The Gateway Island, Murfreesboro
The See Spot Run 5K is a fun, family-friendly race that brings together runners, pet lovers, and community supporters—run or walk to help local pets receive the veterinary care they need. Proceeds support the Oliver Pet Assistance Fund, a Beesley Animal Foundation program providing financial assistance grants for family-owned pets needing urgent (non-emergency) veterinary treatment in Rutherford and Cannon Counties. This fund helps low-income, elderly, and underserved pet owners ensure pets receive care that prevents suffering, relinquishment, or euthanasia.
