Email Idea:

Want to give your kids something very very special,

When they are young (or whenever you read this) set up an email account with their name. Don’t tell them about it. At pivotal moments, write them an email and put in as much detail as you can. Almost like a journal. On their 18th birthday, or maybe 21st or when they get married or whatever, your choice, give them the login.

With my oldest son turning 18 this past Friday, I am debating on when to give him his login. There is a LOT of stuff in it. Some heavy stuff, like when his mom and I were going through our divorce. Some happy stuff. Some life lessons. Whatever was on my mind. I wish there was more. I have not been as diligent about it as I could have been. But, its better than none. Anyway, I think it is a pretty cool gift. I just want to give it to him at the right time.
